We were supposed to cycle 50 miles on Sunday but bike maintenance issues resulted in a slow start. When we finally got going it didn’t take us long to get thoroughly cheesed off with the bitterly cold head wind and at times hail. 6 miles into the ride and we were cold and grumpy. 7 miles in and we had had enough. Our early training rides were undertaken in somewhat peculiar winter garb (see previous post). In the hope of fooling ourselves into thinking we are proper cyclists, we recently updated our cycling wardrobe with an injection of Lycra. Unfortunately we made our purchases with spring in mind. It is not up to winter conditions. When it started to lightly snow we decided to call it a day and go home after a slight diversion to Oddington. The place didn’t seem that odd to us although they appear to allow their children to drive.
